The latest EJVM report does not offer a lot of new information. It does refer to a disputed hill, KANYESHEJA II. The area was once occupied and controlled by M23 rebels.
Some say this hill lies within DRC’s border. Many Rwandans argue that this hill is in Rwanda.
If the hill is in Rwanda, that puts Kigali in a tough spot as it would indicate that M23 rebels were operating from inside Rwanda.

It will be interesting to see how this plays out, especially as we await autopsy reports of the five dead FARDC soldiers Rwanda handed over to the Red Cross last week. Photographs and some preliminary reports suggest that the five soldiers all died from execution-style shots to the head. Steve Terrill
